- Director of Instructional Technology
B.S. in Accounting and Business Pfeiffer University
After 25 plus years of a successful career in the business world, Mr. McCollister decided to retire and start another fulfilling and rewarding career. As both of his parents were educators, he observed throughout their careers the belief and dedication they had towards the education field. Inspired by this, he felt he could use his experience in sales, management, accounting, and business ownership to follow in their footsteps and help educate the youth of today. Moving into the newly formed position of Instructional Technology, Mr. McCollister is no longer in the classroom. He greatly misses preparing students for higher education through highly challenging courses while developing a strong character necessary for future responsibility, but looks forward to the challenges of the “world” of technology. This year will be Mr. McCollister’s 14th year in the education field and the 11th year at Gray Stone. While he enjoys most all sports, he spends most of his free time “hitting the road” on his bicycle, camping, and spending time with his family. He lives in New London with his wife, Kathy. They have two children, Alexandra, a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington who is currently in Malawi, Africa completing a 27-month stint with the Peace Corp, and Nick, who lives in Greensboro with his new bride, Laura, and is currently employed by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
