Gray Stone Welcomes College Representatives year round. School hours are 8:30-2:45, you may pick a time that best suits your schedule. We realize we are off the beaten path and you may not be able to get to us during a “typical” fall travel season. However, if you are in the Charlotte, Greensboro, Salisbury, Concord or Raleigh areas popping out to our campus is worthwhile.  Most major hotel chains can be found in each of these cities.

When planning a visit to our campus, much of your travel time will be on 2 lane state highways. Logging trucks, quarry trucks and road construction (particularly on 49) can slow you down. Build some cushion into your travel time. If you arrive early, we are happy to welcome you and extend your visit.

Our students are encouraged to attend the fall CACRAO college fairs. As we draw students from 9 counties, you are most likely to encounter Gray Stone students at the Cabarrus, Rowan, and Mecklenburg county fairs. Sophomores and juniors are encouraged to attend the Spring National College Fair in Charlotte.

Richfield is our closest town. If you need lunch or an afternoon snack there are several fast food restaurants to choose from including: Wendy’s, Subway, McDonalds, Bo Jangles, and Taco Bell/KFC. If we are your last visit of the day and you are up for some exploring, visit Morrow Mountain State Park: www.ncparks.gov/Visit/parks/momo/main.php. Badin Lake and Lake Tillery are also good outdoor spots to take in if you have time in the area. To learn more about our area visit: www.stanlycountync.gov or the Stanly County Convention and Visitors Bureau: www.stanlycvb.com. A full list of restaurants can be found on the Visitor’s Bureau website.
