Mrs. Deese teaches Multimedia, Criminology, and Marketing and Journalism, which produces the Gray Stone News/Special Projects, and serves as the Distance Learner Advisor for Gray Stone. “My philosophy of teaching is rooted in the belief of the power of education; through the acquisition of knowledge and the completion of academic degrees, that transforms and empowers us.” With 23 years of experience in public service and 13 years of experience teaching online, as well as in the classroom, “I firmly believe that my education and experience has taught me not only to enjoy the students at Gray Stone, but such experience has given me the opportunity to explore different ways of communicating with individuals from various socioeconomic and diverse backgrounds,” said Deese. “While not every student will continue their studies in the subjects I teach, hopefully each student will benefit by their skills learned and be able to apply them to their academic career and beyond.”
Mrs. Deese also serves as Yearbook Advisor and the SADD Club advisor. She lives in Richfield with her husband, Terry and their youngest daughter, Margaret, a junior at Gray Stone. Oldest child, Hamilton (’12), is a recent graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and eldest daughter Alexandra (’13), is a senior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
