We learn to read the world through the word.

Mr. Fanzo earned his B.A. in English and Art History from Duquesne University, and his Master of Arts degree in English Literature from Seton Hall University. At Seton Hall he focused his studies on 19th century British literature and crafted his thesis around the rise of the novel and the decline of the epistolary form throughout the 19th century. In 2012, Mr. Fanzo returned to school at the University of Pittsburgh to receive his 7th -12th grade English certification via the Professional Year program.

During his time at Seton Hall, Mr. Fanzo spent time teaching Freshman Core English Writing and Freshmen Core Literature, and while taking courses at Pitt taught high school 9th grade English and Writing Studio.  From these experiences, and his experience as a Master’s student, Mr. Fanzo committed himself to becoming an advocate for his students by fostering a culture filled with a wide array of educational endeavours within the classroom. In this educational community, he encourages students to employ critical thinking skills and engage with academic and scholarly research via collaborative discussion and writing. He is proud to be a member of the dedicated Gray Stone Staff since 2013.
