Have books, will travel.
I always knew that I wanted to be a teacher, but I could not even begin to fathom the adventure that resulted from the quest to find a phenomenal place to teach. My journey to Gray Stone began in a small suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio and then to the University of Great Falls in Montana for degrees in Secondary Education and English. Upon graduation in December of 2009, I spent a year and a half conducting research and earning a master’s degree at the University of Connecticut. Through a colleague at UConn, I met the former Director of Gifted for Forsyth County and moved to Winston-Salem in August of 2011. The following summer, Mrs. Nance offered me a position I couldn’t resist at Gray Stone. There is a culture here that is unrivaled by any school I’ve ever had the privilege of teaching in, and I love that I can say I’m part of making that happen.
