Gray Stone Day School proudly celebrated the graduation of 93 seniors during its annual commencement exercises held on Saturday, May 30th, marking a significant milestone for students representing seven counties across the region.

Of the 93 graduates, 75 have attended Gray Stone since the sixth grade, spending seven years growing together academically, socially, and personally. Their shared experiences have helped shape a close-knit class known for its dedication and achievement.

The Class of 2026 also reached an impressive milestone by earning more than $4.4 million in scholarship awards from colleges, universities, and private organizations. Additionally, 98 percent of the graduating class plans to continue their education, pursuing fields of study that include engineering, pre-law, education, healthcare, and the arts.

Among the graduates, one student will attend Duke University, while two students have earned admission to Wake Forest University, reflecting the class's strong academic accomplishments.

The ceremony featured musical performances by senior class members Anna Bentley, Lois Chaney, Polly Nantz, and Natalie Niederer, whose talents added a personal and memorable touch to the celebration.

Delivering the keynote address was Gray Stone alumnus Bradley Harrington, who currently serves as a physical education teacher and men's soccer coach at the school. Reflecting on the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, Harrington encouraged graduates to pursue their goals with integrity, confidence, and determination.

“The Class of 2026 has demonstrated what can be achieved through perseverance, character, and commitment to excellence, said Stephen Chambers, board of directors’ chairman. “These graduates have distinguished themselves not only through their academic success, but also through their service to others, leadership within their communities, and willingness to work hard in pursuit of their goals. We are incredibly proud of each of you and excited to see the positive impact wherever your journey takes you,” said Chambers.

The commencement ceremony concluded with the traditional turning of the tassels and the conferring of diplomas, celebrating not only the academic success of the Class of 2026 but also the character, resilience, and achievements of a group of young men and women poised to make their mark on the world.

Gray Stone Day School is a regional public charter school for grades 6-12 and free to attend.
