Staff Retreat 2019 - Kinetic Heights, Charlotte, NC

Gray Stone Day School staff at Kinetic Heights in Charlotte, NC
On Friday, August 2nd, Gray Stone staff and administration loaded two buses and headed off for their yearly retreat, kicking off the 2019-2020 school year.
The location this year was Kinetic Heights in Charlotte, NC, an indoor obstacle center offering challenges and teambuilding for all ages and levels.
The morning started with some instructions and guidelines from the Kinetic Heights staff and then onto the floor they went.
Gray Stone staff began with several warm up exercises and then were strategically split into 3 groups.
Once split into groups the staff rotated through three different stations, all having to work together as a team.
One station was a high ropes course with an easy and an advanced option.
The second station was the ninja warrior course where each group had to get from one end of the obstacle to the other, collecting colored cones along the way and not touching the ground.
They could only use the planks and beams they were given at the beginning of the course.
The last station was aptly called the leap of faith, as groups split into teams of two with one staff member leading their partner (eyes closed) through the obstacle.
All in all, it was a fun filled day full of laughs, competition and most importantly team building.
With several new staff members on board this year it was a great way to get to know everyone before the school year began.
