Senior trip to Mount Shepherd Retreat Center

GSDS Seniors at the Mount Shepherd Retreat Center
Seniors at Gray Stone kicked off the 2019-2020 school year with a trip to the Mount Shepherd Retreat Center in Asheboro, N.C. where they spent two days participating in outdoor and team-building activities.
Besides traversing the ropes courses, scaling the climbing walls, hiking in the woods, riding the zip line, and swimming in the lake, the seniors also met with the school nurse, school counselor, and college counselor to discuss topics especially important during the final year of high school.
Students have subsequently remarked on how helpful these sessions were and how the overnight trip helped them form bonds with classmates that they have seen in the halls for the past three years but never really gotten to know.
These new and renewed friendships have helped this class to coalesce early in the school year, and made the retreat a great way to begin the culminating year of high school for the class of 2020!
