2-Hour Delay
Thursday, January 29, 2026

Thank you for making a smooth transition back to in-person learning today. The safety of our school community remains our top priority. While road conditions continue to improve, we understand that everyone’s situation is different. To help keep our Knight family safe, Gray Stone Day School will be on a 2-hour delay on Thursday, January 29. Student drop-off will begin at 9:30 A.M.

We will continue to closely monitor road conditions while working with local emergency management services, and provide additional updates if needed. Please be sure to stay safe and evaluate what best fits your individual situation.

Students in Jeff Brown’s Design Lab classes recently concluded their Capstone Spring project of designing, building and racing Roman Chariots. For the past 2 months students used the physics principles of Potential Energy, Kinetic Energy and Momentum plus creative and innovative thinking to build Chariots conforming to detailed rules and restrictions. Chariots had to have only 3 wheels and have no mechanical devices.

All their hard work culminated in the 2022 Chariot Races held at the Gray Stone Day School campus on March 22nd. 13 teams participated in an "elimination" runoff race format on a 1/4 mile "course". Each team consisted of a Chariot "rider" and 2 "pushers". All chariots were required to pass an extensive technical and safety inspection prior to the race.
