On January 10th, Gray Stone welcomed professional speaker and “Edutainer” Robert Hackenson, Jr. to present an engaging and interactive student and special parent session on Social Media Landmines and the potential issues and safety concerns that come along with modern technology.
Since 2004, Robert has been delivering these attention-grabbing educational experiences in a dynamic fashion to help recognize the powerful tools of social media.
Students were able to hear on topics of Technology Addiction & Communication Skills, Cyber Bullying & Hateful Posting, Digital Profiling and Safety.
The special parent session addressed best practices to keep kids safe online, ideas for household rules on technology as well as popular apps and how to avoid getting overwhelmed in an ever-changing world of “apps”.
Light refreshments were served that included treats from the Albemarle Sweet Shop and a variety of pies donated by Melissa and Wes Eudy from the Rosebriar.
After graduating from Western New England University, Robert earned his MBA and Certificate in Advanced Organizational Leadership (CAOL) from Nichols College.
In the corporate world, Robert worked as the digital marketing manager for Winbrook Inc., and was on the board for the American Marketing Association Boston Chapter, the second largest chapter in the U.S. Robert’s “edutaining” presentations continue to gain popularity across the U.S., Canada and as far as Australia.
Gray Stone plans to continue providing mental health wellness initiatives throughout the year to students and parents.
