The Spanish Honor Society (SHS) of Gray Stone Day School celebrated its annual induction ceremony on February 22 nd inducting 11 new members. To keep with tradition, the ceremony takes places at a local Hispanic restaurant where students and chapter leaders conduct the ceremony entirely in Spanish. This year the club visited Jalapenos Restaurant located in Albemarle.

To be eligible for membership, students must be currently enrolled in Spanish 3 Honors, average a grade of 90 or better in all Spanish courses (past and present) and maintain an overall 3.5 GPA. Students must also commit to monthly meetings and complete 4 service hours per semester via tutoring and participation in a community activity organized by the chapter.

Current SHS leaders include Katherine Jolly- President; Annika Schneider- Vice-president; Hanna Elberson- Secretary; and Ritika Ravikumar- Treasurer. Amanda Gilmore and Emory Cagle serve as Chapter leaders.
