Connor Conforti, a senior at Gray Stone Day School, recently competed in the International Geography Bee in Arlington, Virginia and was named a Varsity Division semifinalist.

Founded in 2016, the International Geography Bee is an annual geography quiz competition for primary and secondary school students focusing on pure geographic knowledge. Participating students are part of a community of young scholars who are striving to improve their knowledge of the world, its peoples and cultures. Competitions are held at the regional, national, and global levels with hopes that through the creation of a world-wide competition, students can further their geography knowledge while making new friendships with like-minded peers from around the world.

“Connor is an outstanding student. It is really exciting for students to showcase their knowledge in a fun and engaging way. Being the advisor to the Quiz Bowl team in which Connor is a member, I see first-hand his hard work in academic competitions. He represented both himself and Gray Stone well and I am very proud of his accomplishments.” Clay Honeycutt, Social Studies teacher added.

Connor plans to attend DePaul University in the Fall. He is the son of Mark and Mary Allen Conforti of Salisbury.
