On Friday, August 11th, the class of 2024 kicked off their final year at a day-long retreat to Mount Shepherd located in Asheboro.
This annual tradition for seniors is a way to prepare for their final lap of their high school careers bonding over shared memories and the monumental year ahead of them.
Mount Shepherd, known for its relaxing nature, provides friendly competitive team building activities for children and adults alike.
Gray Stone students not only took part in challenge courses but were also able to enjoy free time to fellowship together.
“The senior retreat is a great opportunity to connect and bond with people we typically don’t hang out with.
I enjoyed being able to spend time away from school and be outside with my friends and classmates,” said Victoria Eckman.
College Counselor Sarah Ince added, “It was a great time for these seniors to get away from their typical school schedule to reflect on their years of high school together.
Retreats are such an important part of the high school experience because it allows them to grow together as a class.
I am so glad I was able share in this memory.”
Gray Stone Day School offers students grades 6-12 a rigorous college preparatory curriculum in an environment that fosters the development of strong character.
Gray Stone Day is a public charter school and free to attend.
