Gray Stone hosts County Quiz Bowl

Gray Stone Day School
Pfeiffer University sponsored the Stanly County Quiz Bowl held at Gray Stone Day School on Saturday April 13. Teams from Stanly Early College, West Stanly High School and Gray Stone Day School participated in the competition.
Teams demonstrate their extensive knowledge of multiple subjects including history, science, literature, art and current events in a Jeopardy-style format.
The Quiz Bowl not only highlights the academic achievements of students but also fosters a spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
“Being a part of Quiz Bowl is a testament to the academic excellence of students who live in Stanly County.
I am so glad we are able to help provide this platform for students to showcase their academic talents.
All of the teams performed well and I am so appreciative to Pfeiffer University for their sponsorship of such a worth-while academic competition,” said Helen Nance, Chief Administrative Officer.
All-County Team: Connor Towns, Tim Karabet, Lucas Starnes and Addy Grace Carter.
Gray Stone Day School finished first in the competition.
Individual team members with the highest scores made up the All-County team consisting of Connor Towns-Gray Stone Day School, Tim Karabet-West Stanly High School, Lucas Starnes-Gray Stone Day School and Addy Grace Carter- Gray Stone Day School.
Gray Stone Day School is a public charter school and free to attend.
